Preparing for High School

Many children of immigrants and their parents are unaware of the expectations brought on by secondary school education. There are many gaps for immigrant families and the education system in which their children are enrolled. Preparing for highschool is a full day event that educates parents and future grade 9 students on what to expect in highschool. This allows parents to be more knowledgeable and active in their child’s education. This event also features various speakers including school principles, community police officers, and accomplished professionals. Questions that students and parents have are answered in a safe space.
